Weil Wins Private Equity Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2020
Weil was named “Private Equity Team of the Year” at the 2020 British Legal Awards, highlighting the Firm’s global expertise and leadership in the London market.
Weil was recognized for its work advising the liquidators of Abraaj Investment Management Limited, an “unusual and complex” deal that Legal Week, the host of the British Legal Awards, noted for being “genuinely unprecedented for the private equity industry.”
Weil was also shortlisted for “Restructuring Team of the Year” in recognition of its record of achievement in some of the year’s most complex and significant restructurings.
The British Legal Awards are the latest in a series of accolades Weil has received for its cutting-edge work in the U.K. The Firm was named “Restructuring Team of the Year” at The Lawyer Awards, “Private Equity Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards, and was honored at the European Tax Awards for its success leading the tax aspects of two of the year’s notable private equity transactions. In addition, Weil was recently recognized by The Times in its “Best Law Firms 2021.”
