Weil Shortlisted for IJInvestor Legal Advisor of the Year Award 2021

Weil has been shortlisted by IJGlobal for the IJInvestor Legal Advisor of the Year Award 2021. Weil is the only law firm to have been shortlisted for both its fundraising and M&A expertise in the infrastructure and energy markets, highlighting Weil’s leading market position and successes alongside some of the most active private equity investors in this space. Weil was previously named Legal Advisor of the Year at the IJInvestor Awards 2020.

This award recognizes the most outstanding performance by a law firm advising clients involved in the deployment of capital by institutional investors in energy and infrastructure assets. The winner of this category also has to demonstrate work with a breadth of clients across different geographies. In 2020, the judging panel – an independent panel of industry experts – noted “Weil never ceases to impress in this sector from fundraising through to M&A, this firm is internationally impressive.” Another added: “It lends confidence to a process when you see Weil at the table. You know that you are dealing with first-rate players at the top of their game.”

During the review period, Weil advised on a number of standout mandates in the energy and infrastructure space including Brookfield on the fundraising for the Brookfield Global Transition Fund; Infracapital in connection with its €1.5 billion Infracapital Greenfield Partners II fundraising; Terra Firma on the sale of Parmaco; and Polhem Infra on the $1.06 billion acquisition of Telia Carrier, the world’s largest internet back-bone network for data traffic.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held on December 8 at Pan Pacific Hotel in London.
