Weil has been shortlisted for “Law Firm of the Year: Fund Formation, Europe” at the 2020 Global PERE Awards, highlighting the achievements of the Firm’s Private Funds practice in the European private real estate markets.
Over the past 12 months, Weil’s Private Funds Group in London has been lead counsel on 10 market-leading mandates that include advising: Brookfield on the launch and final close of its first exclusively European-focused fund strategy, exceeding its target of €1 billion and making it the third largest open-ended core-plus fund targeting the region ever raised; Yoo Capital Fund II on its fundraising and acquisition of Shepherd’s Bush Market; CapMan on its offer to investors in Hotels Fund I to either exit the fund or roll their interests into CapMan Hotels Fund II (a new open-ended vehicle); and InfraRed management on the sale of 80% of the InfraRed business to Sun Life – this was one of the most high profile sales of a real assets focused GP during the review period.
Weil’s recent record further demonstrates its expertise and ability to execute across a range of strategies and structures for established and new managers to deliver pioneering, market-leading offerings.
The annual Global PERE Awards recognise the investors, managers, advisors and individuals that make a difference in the private real estate sector. PERE will announce the award winners following an on-line vote for the shortlisted firms.
