Weil Advised Genstar Capital in Formation of $10.2B Buyout Fund
Weil advised Genstar Capital in the formation of its 10th fund, Genstar Capital Partners X, a buyout fund with approximately $10.2 billion in total commitments, focused on investments in the financial services, software, industrial technology and healthcare industries in North America. In addition, Genstar has raised committed overage capacity of $1.5 billion from select limited partners. Total capital raised, including Fund X, the General Partner, affiliated entities and overage capacity is approximately $11.7 billion.
The Weil team that advised Genstar Capital was led by Private Funds partner Andrew Chizzik and included Private Funds counsel Sarah Borden and Private Funds associates Becki Steinberg, Cesar Munoz, Jonathan Trebble-Greening and Sandy Hao (Not Yet Admitted in New York). The team also included Tax associate Sidney Chiang.
