Weil Advised Blackstone as Controlling Shareholder of Vivint Solar in its $3.2 Billion Sale to Sunrun

Weil advised The Blackstone Group as controlling shareholder of Vivint Solar, a leading full-service residential solar provider, in its sale of Vivint to Sunrun Inc., a provider of residential solar, battery storage and energy services, in an all-stock transaction that values Vivint on an enterprise basis at $3.2 billion, and the subsequent sale by Blackstone of a portion of its shares in Vivint to Coatue Management. The transaction closed on October 22, 2020.

The Weil team that advised Blackstone was led by Private Equity partner Christopher Machera and Antitrust partner Steven Newborn, and includes Antitrust partner Megan Granger and Private Equity associate Joshua Whitford. The team also included Tax partner Mark Schwed; Public Company Advisory Group Co-Head Howard Dicker and partner Adé Heyliger.
