Weil is advising Gores Metropoulos, Inc., a SPAC sponsored by affiliates of The Gores Group, LLC and Metropoulos & Co., in its $3.4 billion merger with Luminar Technologies, Inc., a producer of advanced lidar sensor technologies that bounce lasers off objects to guide vehicles for the autonomous vehicle industry. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020 and is subject to regulatory and stockholder approvals, and other customary closing conditions.
