Weil Advised Blackstone as Controlling Shareholder of Vivint Solar in its Approximately $7.5 Billion Sale to Sunrun

Weil advised Blackstone as controlling shareholder of Vivint Solar, a leading full-service residential solar provider, in its approximately $7.5 billion sale of Vivint to Sunrun Inc., a provider of residential solar, battery storage and energy services, in an all-stock transaction, and the subsequent sale by Blackstone of a portion of its shares in Vivint to Coatue Management. The transaction closed on October 22, 2020.

The Weil team that advised Blackstone was led by Private Equity partner Christopher Machera and Antitrust partner Steven Newborn, and included Antitrust partner Megan Granger. The team also included Public Company Advisory Group Co-Head Howard Dicker and partner Adé Heyliger.
